Case study summary
Our client was accused of repeatedly stalking and damaging his ex-girlfriend's car. This was allegedly witnessed by the complainant's friend. Despite this, we put forward a prepared statement in the police station and the police decided to take no further action.
Case study
Our client was a young man accused of stalking his ex-girlfriend after their relationship ended. He was accused of calling and texting her repeatedly and then showing up at her house. Once at her house, the complainant and her friend called the police and said our client violently "keyed" her car door causing damage.
Our client was arrested and instructed our specialist criminal solicitors to represent him. We took full instructions from him and probed the police about the background to their relationship. We also questioned the account given by the complainant's friend who allegedly saw our client damage her car.
We decided to put forward a carefully drafted prepared statement and then kept on top of the police for several months after the interview. The police eventually decided to take no further action against our client.
Our client was very pleased to be able to finally move on from this situation and the difficult relationship he was in.
