Case study summary
Our client was remanded into custody after his partner falsely accused him of strangling her. We fought for our client and explained to the Prosecution that this case should go no further. They dropped the case and our client was released.
Case study
Our client was arrested after his partner accused him of Intentional Strangulation. From the offset our client protested his innocence and asserted that his partner was falsely accusing him of something he did not do.
The complainant in this case soon regretted her actions and tried to contact the police to tell them she was wrong and that our client should be released. Our issue was that even though the complainant wanted to erase her actions and false allegations, it was down to the Prosecution now to decide whether to continue or not.
Our client was remanded into custody and we were very conscious of this. We kept in frequent contact with him in order to ensure he was doing okay, whilst also reassuring him that we were doing everything we could to get him out.
After our persistence and hard work, we received information from the Prosecution that they would be discontinuing the case against our client and he was free to leave custody. He was released from prison later that day and was delighted to be able to return to his home and be with his family.
