Case study summary
Our client was falsely accused by his neighbour of making threats to kill. He was terrified that this could become a court case. We represented the client in interview and ensured that the police dropped closed the investigation.
Case study
We represented a father of three children. He was shocked when his neighbour accused him of coming round to their house and shouting that he would kill him. This simply had not happened.
Our client explained that there was a long-standing dispute between his neighbour and his neighbour was now clearly escalating this and making false allegations. Our specialist criminal defence lawyers attended the police station and represented our client. It was apparent, after examining the police’s case, that the evidence was weak.
Our client was alleged to have shouted loud and abusive comments in a quiet residential street, yet no other neighbours had heard anything and no one had recorded what would have been an alarming event if it had happened. The only evidence was the statement of the neighbour who had motivation to fabricate this allegation.
In interview our specialist criminal defence lawyers put our client’s defence forward in a carefully written statement. The police quickly accepted that they had no choice other than to drop the case.
Our client was very relieved that these false allegations had been dropped so quickly.
