Case study summary

Our client was taken to the police station, following a police raid relating to a high-profile Joint Enterprise Murder investigation. We carefully advised him and protected his interests before, during, and after the interview process, following which the police dropped the case.

Case study

Our client was a young man arrested and interviewed for Joint Enterprise Murder. Police had attended his address in a dawn raid and taken him to the police station where he was detained for questioning. The investigation had received national media coverage and press reporting.

We were able to speak to our client within minutes of being notified of his arrest, providing initial advice and reassurance over the phone for what was a terrifying situation for him.

We requested as much information from the police as possible, to find out precisely what he was being accused of and what evidence they claimed to have against him. It was based on this information, that we carefully advised our client before the interview process.

During the interview, we made sure that we had someone by his side to fight on his behalf. We protected him from any pressurised questioning by the police, and closely checked that he was not forced or tricked into saying or doing anything that they could then try and use against him.

Less than two months after the arrest, we received notification from the police that there taking no further action against him.

Our client said that he felt that he had been living a nightmare since his arrest and that his life could start again.
