Case study summary
Our client was under investigation following an alleged assault after a confrontation at a staff party left the complainant with head injuries. Our client had nothing to do with the incident and instead was being scapegoated for the complainant's own drunken behaviour.
Case study
Our client owned and ran a very lucrative business which had a gleaming reputation. The allegation was made by an employee who had fallen due to becoming too intoxicated. Our client was blamed for this incident and the police started to investigate him for causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
This allegation could have been extremely damaging for our client and their reputation and it was important for us to stop it from going any further. We spoke to our client and obtained their version of events and began to prepare for the police interview. Our specialist lawyer was able to control the narrative of the interview and assert that there was nothing to suggest our client had any involvement in this incident.
We were able to show the police that this allegation was unwarranted and successfully managed to influence their decision to take no further action. Our client was extremely grateful and was able to return to work without the fear of criminal prosecution hanging over him.
