Case study summary

Our client found himself in a domestic dispute with his mother which led to a number of items being destroyed and his mother being assaulted. He received a community order after careful mitigation by our expert lawyers.

Case study

Our client suffered with very poor mental health due to previous serious illnesses for which he was taking a lot of medication. On the night of the incident our client was not in a good frame of mind mentally which resulted in him behaving in the way he did.

Almost immediately after the incident our client found himself feeling very remorseful and ashamed of his actions. He decided to plead guilty at the first opportunity, and therefore our job was to mitigate effectively so that he would receive a lenient sentence.

Our expert solicitor explained to the court that our client suffered from severe mental health issues and also substance abuse, and that a community order and rehabilitation requirements would be an effective way to address our client's personal issues. Our client was extremely happy to have avoided prison, and also very grateful for the opportunity to reform his life.
