Case study summary
Our clients approached us following an arrest and interview on suspicion of conspiring to kidnap, s.18 GBH and s.47 ABH. With care and attention given to every move, we persuaded the CPS not to pursue our clients on any of the allegations.
Case study
Our clients were accused of conspiring with others to kidnap and cause serious harm to their daughter's abusive partner.
Their gentle daughter had been in a long-term relationship with a psychologically abusive man. Our clients had seen their daughter shrink from a confident young lady into a reclusive, closed person with little or no life outside of her own home.
The situation became so dire that, as loving parents, they decided the only way to save their daughter was by an intervention.
This case was emotionally very complex and tactically tricky to navigate. Using our wealth of experience and understanding, we persuaded the police and the CPS that it would not be in the public interest to pursue our clients through the criminal justice system.
