Case study
Our client was found to be driving a vehicle dangerously and, when he exited the vehicle, he then ran away from the police by running into two random houses. He was captured by the police and arrested for burglary, which is a serious offence carrying a maximum sentence of up to 14 years' in prison, and dangerous driving.
One of police station representatives represented our client during his police interview and provided him with expert legal advice. The outcome of the interview was that the police charged him with the lesser offence of criminal damage and dangerous driving. Our client was remanded to appear at court the next day.
We advised our client to plead guilty at the Magistrates' Court as he admitted the allegations and the evidence against him was strong. This enabled him to receive a third reduction from his sentence. One of our experienced court advocates then presented strong and persuasive arguments to the court with the aim of avoiding a prison sentence.
Our court advocate's submissions were successful as our client received a suspended prison sentence. He was extremely pleased with this result.
