Case study summary
Our client was found to have prohibited images on his devices. He instructed us following his first police interview and we advised and supported him throughout the investigation. This resulted in the police agreeing to resolve the matter out of court with a conditional caution.
Case study
Our client was arrested for possession of indecent images of children. He did not have legal representation during his police interview and he informed the police that such material could be present on his devices. The police reviewed his devices and, whilst no indecent images of children were located, some prohibited material was.
Realising that he had committed a criminal offence and serious consequences could follow from this, our client contacted us and asked us to represent him. We took a proactive approach, reviewed the case and provided our client with expert advice for how he could put himself in the best position possible for the next stages of the process.
As our client had followed our legal advice and guidance from the moment he instructed us, the police agreed to resolve the matter by way of a conditional caution. This meant that he avoided a criminal conviction and the stressful ordeal which would have followed if the matter went to court. Our client could put the matter behind him a lot sooner than he originally thought and was extremely relieved with this result.
