False Rape Allegation Dropped by Police

Our client was accused of rape by a woman who he was having a casual relationship with. We worked hard to sift through hundreds of messages and pictures in order to highlight the fact the two were clearly in a consensual sexual relationship.

Our client was in a causal sexual relationship with the complainant. It turned out that the woman had a boyfriend and once he found out about her relationship with our client, he was extremely upset and betrayed.

The complainant, we believe, then made the allegation that she was raped in order to save her relationship, rather than admit to have had consensual sex with someone else. Our client was then arrested on suspicion of rape and this is when he contacted us.

We started by listening to what really happened and planned how to deal with this allegation. We started by going through all of the messages between the complainant and our client and drafted our representations to the police around these. There was clear evidence to show that the relationship was always consensual and all that was needed was for us to highlight this to the police as well as place pressure upon them to make the right decision.

Our client was elated once we told him that the police had decided to take no further action against him and felt that he could finally move on with his life.
