Frequently asked questions
Do I need an appointment to see you straight away?
If you want to see our criminal solicitors in Chepstow straight away you will need to book an appointment. We can usually arrange this on the next day or at the latest within 48 hours. Many clients choose to have the first meeting by secure videocall. We can organise this at short notice and there is no obligation.
What's the best way to come by car and is there parking?
The nearest local motorway to Chepstow is the M48 which links the area to the whole of South Wales via the M4, and to Bristol and the rest of South West England by the M4 and M5.
Travellers coming via the M48 will come off at the A446 exit and then take the A48 before turning into Chepstow at Beaufort Square and into the one way system. There is free parking available. Just let us know you're coming by car.
Which courts or police stations are nearby?
Our Chepstow office is our hub for clients with cases in the South Wales and South West England. We regularly defend criminal and fraud cases in all the major court centres in the region, including Cardiff Crown Court, Bristol Crown Court and also Swansea Crown Court.
It's close to the Magistrates' Courts at Bristol, Newport and Cwmbran.
From our Chepstow office we represent clients at the South Wales Police stations at Chepstow, Newport Central and Cardiff Central, as well as Bristol's Patchway Police Station on Gloucester Rd.
What are the local public transport links?
Chepstow has direct rail services to Newport (20 min), Cardiff (50 min), Gloucester (30 min) and Cheltenham (40 min).
For clients who want to come to us by public transport from South West England below the Severn estuary we would recommend taking a train to Bristol and then a taxi to Chepstow (approximately £35 and a 20 min journey).
What arrangements do you have for wheelchair users?
Our office is in a relatively old building and sadly not ideally adapted for wheelchair access. We are of course happy to offer a free virtual consultation by secure videocall in the first instance, and we also have accessible conference room facilities in Chepstow, Bristol and Cardiff.
