Kellie Dent
Kellie started working for the firm in 2010, having been defending major cases for another leading firm. She is an Associate Director and head of criminal law. She supervises all our criminal cases and herself defends in complex and serious matters.

About Kellie
Kellie is one of the firm's Associate Directors and a Chartered Legal Executive. She has worked here since 2009, and had worked at two other firms before joining Mary Monson Solicitors. She is Head of the firm's Criminal Department and is based at our Head Office in Salford. Kellie represents clients throughout the country, from the police station stage up to the Crown Court. She has particular experience in murder cases and large drug conspiracies.
Education
Kellie grew up in Lancashire and started her career as a legal secretary. Whilst working she also studied part-time at university to achieve her Chartered Legal Executive qualification. Kellie has nearly 30 years of experience in the legal profession, and worked as the right hand of the firm’s founder Mary Monson for over a decade on a number of significant cases.
Approach to the work
Kellie prides herself on leaving no stone unturned. She is fearless in fighting for her clients and never afraid to challenge the police to protect those clients' interests. She is tenacious in applying pressure on the Crown Prosecution Service when preparing a case for the Crown Court. She works closely with some of the country’s top barristers and KCs. Kellie is known as a formidable opponent who at the same time ensures her clients feel protected and fully understand their case.

Kellie is a founding contributor in the firm’s Legal Writing Programme, and she has written criminal law guides which are available to the public on the firm’s website. These articles help explain various offences and provide guidance on some of the processes in the criminal justice system.
Outside the law
Kellie is a self-confessed crime addict who spends her spare time watching crime dramas.
