Case study summary

Our clients, brothers from Ashton, were alleged to have been involved in an altercation between two rival groups. We were able to question the evidence that the police had gathered and ensured that the case was eventually dropped.

Case study

It was alleged that the two brothers were part of a group who were involved in a large-scale fight with another rival group. Witnesses to the incident had reported that the group were using weapons but none had actually seen the apparent fight itself.

CCTV had supposedly captured our clients, along with many other individuals, leaving the scene once the fight was over, and getting into a vehicle.

Our clients were arrested for this and requested that our lawyers attended to represent them. Having reviewed the evidence presented to us by the police, it was clear that it was circumstantial and the police could not prove that our clients were involved. Our clients had also insisted that they were not at the scene and were not aware of any altercation. We drafted short prepared statements on our client's behalf outlining their accounts and questioning the evidence that had been gathered by the police.

Having considered these accounts, the police were forced to take no further action and the investigation was eventually closed.
