Our client was a husband and father to four children. In April 2023, his wife reported him to the police for spitting at her. She then claimed that he had threatened to kill her on two separate occasions.

Our client requested us at the police station. One of our expert defence lawyers attended and began by speaking to the officer in charge of the case about the allegations. Our lawyer challenged the evidence and they were able to confirm that our client's wife had not provided a witness statement and she did not want to support a prosecution. However, the police still wanted an account from our client.

During a conference with our client, he denied the allegations and explained that his wife had been having an affair. She had told our client that she does not love him any more and she wanted him to move out of the house. Our client believes that she made the allegations in an attempt to force him out of their home.

We provided our expert advice for the police interview and our client was released with no further action to be taken. He looked forward to being reunited with his children.
