Case study summary

Our client had been filmed slapping his brother across the face after an argument at his home. During his interview, our experts were able to use the correct tactics to ensure that the case did not proceed to court.

Case study

Our client instructed our firm after being arrested for slapping his brother across the face. It was clear that he had done this as he had been filmed doing so by another family member. Before the interview itself, our specialist lawyer spoke with the officer about the possibility of a caution.

Although this would be on his criminal record, a caution would mean that our client did not have to go to court and would avoid a conviction. Our client admitted the assault during consultation, so, a carefully worked prepared statement was drafted on his behalf and submitted at the start of the interview, outlining his admission and the regret he felt for having slapped his brother.

At the conclusion of the interview, our client was cautioned and was able to move on with his life, avoiding a stressful court prosecution.
