Case study summary

Our client was arrested for racially aggravated assault on two bouncers. He asked for us to represent him at the police station. After exercising his right to silence, the police decided to drop the investigation due to a lack of evidence.

Case study

Our client was arrested when he was extremely intoxicated and accused of being racially abusive towards two bouncers on a night out. It was further alleged that he assaulted his partner during the incident. There was CCTV footage of the assaults but our client had no recollection.

Our specialist solicitors attended the police station and took instructions from our client. He was unable to assist due to his intoxication and the police were reluctant to show CCTV footage prior to interview. A decision was carefully made to maintain a "no comment" interview and effectively put the police to proof.

After chasing the police repeatedly and reminding them of their duties, they decided to take no further action on all fronts.

Our client recognised that he has a problem with alcohol and was very grateful for our assistance.
