Our client was a man of good character who had separated abruptly from his partner of three years. The separation restricted access to his infant son and as a result his mental health declined substantially.

He was later arrested for harassment and criminal damage after being accused of making multiple calls to his ex-partner and damaging her car.

During his interview with police, he was represented by a duty solicitor and accepted responsibility for the offences.

When it became clear the police intended for this case to be charged our client contacted our firm for help in avoiding this.

Our expert lawyers were instructed to draft careful representations to the Crown Prosecution service arguing that, in light of our client's difficult situation and good character, this case would be better served by offering him a caution.

After consideration of our representations, our client was offered a simple caution in relation to both offences.
