Case study summary
Our client was called to attend a voluntary interview after suspected indecent images were located on her phone.
She explained that she was willing to work with the Youth Justice Service and we were able to persuade the police that she should be given a community resolution.
Case study
This client was initially arrested after she was reported missing. She was located by police in the company of an unidentified man, leading police to suspect she was the victim of child sexual exploitation.
On reviewing her mobile phone, police found what they believed to be indecent images of children and extreme pornography.
We explained this to our client and took her instructions. She was shocked that the police thought the images were indecent and explained that they were not of children. She accepted she should not have had possession of the extreme pornography and that she was willing to engage with a youth offending team if this was an option.
At her interview, our expert lawyers were able to persuade the police, through a prepared statement, that the images in question were not indecent and that our client accepted possession of the extreme pornography.
