Case study summary

Our client was a young man accused of raping and sexually assaulting his niece over 10 years before. His family understood the gravity of such accusations. Following our representation at two interviews and engagement with the police, they took no further action on all matters.

Case study

Our client was a 20 year old young man with no previous convictions or involvement with the police. He then found himself accused of the most serious sexual offences against a young family member, at a very pivotal time of his life. His parents understood the severity of such accusations and how his life would be impacted if such a case proceeded to court.

They instructed our specialist sexual offences solicitors and we looked after him throughout two investigations over a 3 year period. We represented him at two interviews with the police and put forward two detailed prepared statements. We then remained in contact with the police and continued to identify weaknesses in the complainant's allegations.

Following these detailed statements and after a lengthy investigation, the police decided to take no further action in relation to all matters. This means that our client can return to building his life and entering the world of employment, without such serious accusations holding him back.
