Military drop sexual assault and harassment allegationNo further action - police dropped investigation
Case study summary
We were instructed to represent a client during a lengthy and complex military investigation. Following comprehensive representations and the right advice at interview the matter was concluded with no further action.
Our client was a serving soldier who was about to leave the army to take up a new post in the Police when an allegation of sexual assault and harassment was made by a colleague.
The military police are often a closed book but we were able to present information to them that conflicted with the complainant's account. Despite this they arrested our client on no fewer than three occasions to try and exert as much pressure as possible. Thankfully we were on hand to represent the client and ensure that he wasn't coerced into providing information that would cast doubt on his own defence.
More cases we’ve defended
Our client was accused of sexual assault after a date with a woman. He was a professional man working for the NHS with a completely clean record. Our sexual assault lawyers advised him in detail in the interview and made written representations to the CPS, who dropped the case.
A neigbour's daughter accused our client of touching her chest, which he strongly denied. He came to us in order to ensure he had the best defence. We spent dozens of hours looking for the holes in the alleged victim's story, and we were able to prove our client's innocence.
Our client was accused of sexual assault on his step-daughter. The allegation really came from his partner who he had reported already for blackmail. We defended him in police interview and carefully drafted a prepared statement. In the end we convinced police to drop the case.
