Case study summary

Our client had known the complainant for a few years. After being invited back to her house, they had consensuel sexual contact. However, two months later, she accused our client of sexual assault. We provided expert legal representations to the police and the case was dropped.

Case study

Our client was a 33-year old acoustic technician. In March 2022, he was on a night out with his friends. He met a female acquaintance and they decided to go back to her house for the night where they had sexual contact with each other. Four months later, the acquaintance accused him of sexual assault.

Our client called us and asked for our help after he was interviewed by the police. He realised that he should be have instructed our specialist sexual assault lawyers for his police station interview. This made him very anxious as to what would happen next. We immediately contacted the police to establish what the allegation was. The Police confirmed the allegation was sexual assault by penetration.

Our client could hardly believe that he could be under investigation so easily for something he did not do. This allegation had a paralysing effect on his entire life and he had to take time off work due to the unberable stress.

Thankfully, our specialist sexual assault lawyers were on hand to turn the situation around. After several months of persisting, we were eventually able to obtain the police interview recording. We then put together detailed written representations on our clients behalf.

We very quickly saw that the allegation did not add up. On the night, she was the one who invitied our client into her bed. She then proceeded to repeatedly call our client in the days after and invited our client back to her house again.

Upon recieiving our representations, the police felt they had no choice but to close the case aganist our client. Our client was able to return to work and to start enjoying his life once again.
